"Precious Time" video wins award.
Numerics Brings Home Gold At Hermes
Indie Rock finds home at Hermes Awards
Nashville, TN (05.04.09) Nashville based independent recording
artists Numerics received The Golden Hermes Award for its debut
music video “Precious Time.” The award winning video was directed
by Cameron McCasland and produced by Michael Creason of New
Valiant Productions.
Numerics is a collaboration of Memphis natives Parrish and Lloyd.
Together they are making music that thrives in recorded formats
and captivates listeners in live settings. Numerics concentrates on
concise song arrangements, imaginative lyrics, and distinct tonal
qualities.
Numerics' Lloyd said of the award, “We are glad to get a Hermes
because it acknowledges forward thinking and the use of new media
to connect with your audience. As a new band, the Internet is the
best way for us to get the word out, and this is recognition that we're
on the right track."
“Precious Time” was launched on the web in early April and climbed
the myspace.com video charts into the top 40. The debut video is the
first single from their upcoming album “Proud to Be a Numerican”
which will be released in the summer of 2009.
“Precious Time” was begun in Memphis with experimental audio
engineer Daniel Lynn. After tracking the album in Memphis, Numerics
brought the project to Nashville, utilizing legendary Soundstage
Studios and a close working relationship with expert mixing engineer
Stephen Jones to complete “Proud to Be a Numerican.” The video
for “Precious Time” was directed by Cameron McCasland and
produced by Michael Creason in the band's home state of
Tennessee along the music highway between Nashville and Memphis.
The Hermes Awards are administered and judged by the Association
of Marketing and Communication Professionals. The international
organization consists of several thousand creative professionals.
The Association oversees awards and recognition programs, provides
judges and sets standards for excellence. For more information
